Win! National Chocolate Week: Chocolates for Chocoholics Collection Box



Yay! More chocolate to share! This time it's the turn of Chocolates for Chocoholics who have kindly given us a very pretty box of chocolates! Look at the box! Isn't it lovely?! Their Exquisite Collection is full of yummy goodies ranging from classic soft centres to brilliant dessert-based treats. Yummy!

We've got one box to giveaway today. All you have to do is leave a comment telling us what dessert you'd like to see immortalised in a chocolate. We can't promise that it'll be in the box, but we'll pick the best answer and that person will win the chocolates! (Of course if lots of you pick the same answer we'll have to pick out of the hat, but please try and be original!) No extra entries for re-tweeting, but we'll be your best friends instead.

You've got until 4.30 today to get your comment up on the post (they're timed so if you're too late, we'll know!) and we'll announce the winner shortly after. Good luck!

The small print: The competition will close at 4.30pm 13th October. Please don't shout at us if you don't win, there's more competitions tomorrow, and the day after. All week in fact. The winner must live in the UK as well, sorry overseas readers. We're not allowed to enter our own competitions, but if we were allowed, we'd like apple pie flavoured chocs. We wish we could enter own own competitions. Humph.

  5. Some sort of Artic Roll chocolate. Retro-tastic! Sure, it's be like a slice of a mini roll but it'd be thick chocolate, thin later of sponge, raspberry goo then the centre would be whippy white chocolate truffle instead of ice cream.

  7. I make a mean Baileys and white chocolate cheesecake, which tastes wonderful (even if I do say so myself!) Would be great to try it in chocolate form - less calories than a full slice!

  8. Well, perfectly for this time of year, I would have an autumn berries crumble with custard - how could that not be enhanced by being wrapped in a chocolate?

  9. Hard choice, think it would have to be Lemon cheesecake, digestive biscuit base, lemony stuff and obviously lots of chocolate and on top of that maybe some white chocolate shavings mmmm.

  13. Baked alaska wrapped in chocolate; you'd have to keep it in the freezer, or serve it very quickly, but it'd be worth it. Chocolate spone, chocolate (or Baileys) ice cream in the middle, and a little meringue, all coated in chocolate.

  15. I make a pretty mean white chocolate and ginger cheesecake. Which, if translated into a chocolate, would probably be bits of ginger biscuit base squished up with white chocolate truffley stuff, encased in white chocolate. Must be quite ginger-y though, so maybe chuck in some crystallised ginger. Mmm.

  18. Strawberries in balsamic vinegar with black pepper. The sourness and the sweetness together with a really hefty dark chocolate and a little bit of heat from the pepper. It would be a dream.

  21. Eton Mess - a white chocolate shell, filled with a rich strawberry mousse with a hint of champagne and little crispy bits of meringue. Heavenly!

  42. I'm going to harken back to my childhood and wish for Dairy Queen's peanut buster parfait. Triple layered with smooth almost liquidy fudge salted peanuts and a creamy White goodness to represent the fluffy ice cream. That would be heaven. And much easier to send over from north America then ice cream and hot fudge.

  46. Sounds gross, but my favourite dessert is rice pudding so I'm going to say that. Yum, the creamy loveliness...

    My nan used to make the best rice pudding ever. Not sure how it would work in a chocolate though...

  50. The ultimate, delicious, crowd-pleasing dessert has got to be creme brulee! If they could immortalise the way a perfect creme brulee's glossy brown shell cracks with a satisfying noise to reveal gorgeous vanilla-scented, smooth mouth-coating creaminess, I'd be in gustatory heaven.

  53. Apple and Rhubarb crumble!

    No other desert reminds me more of my childhood. When I wasn't busy making mud pies or love potions from stewed weeds, I would help my mum pick apples and rhubard from my back garden in preperation for the best homely desert- Apple and Rhubarb crumble. In chocolate it would make the ultimate sweet and slightly tangy of chocolate yums. With both vegetable and fruit inside the chocolate casing, you could justify a few more than you should perhaps get your mitts on! Crumbliness, delicious sugary fruit, perfect smooth chocolateness...

  56. I would like to have 'jaffamisu' please.... a magical twist on tiramisu - you replace the coffee and amaretto/marsala with cointreau and the spongey base is jaffa cakes. This with the marscapone and cream topping cased inside some yummy chocolate with some candied orange peel curls on top - divine!!

  63. My favourite dessert is triple chocolate torte (white, milk and dark) with cruncy hazelnut praline running through it alongside forest berry coulis. Creamy, chocolaty and some sourness to counteract the first two.

What about a chocolate trifle - chocolate mini rolls for the base, steeped in some Kahlua liquor, chocolate blancmange for the comfort food version or a delicate white chocolate mousse for a posh version instead of jelly, and chocolate custard topping with white and dark chocolate curls and maltesers for decoration. Oooh but you couldn't eat more than a bucketful without feeling sick!

    My pick would have to be something similar to an amazing desert I had over the weekend, an Italian Cherry liqeur poured over ice cream.

  72. I'm going to go for a retro-tastic Black Forest Gateau.

    Just imagine a plump black cherry soaked in kirsch, and surrounded by a soft chocolate mousse to represent the sponge. Smother that in deep dark chocolate, and add a drop of vanilla flavoured white chocolate on top to represent the cream. Dust the whole thing in cocoa, and I think that has to be the yummiest dessert-based chocolate imaginable!

    The centre would be a nugget of buttery graham cracker 'base', surrounded by a lime flavoured fondant, dipped into dark chocolate (with high cacao content, of course, served slightly chilled with a tiny segment of jellied lime at its crown. Yum!
