I'm about to share with you my best kept secret in London. It's not a cocktail bar, or a dress shop. It's hair salon Taylor Taylor on Commercial Street in East London. The best hairdressers I've ever been to, and my go-to pretty making place for the last five years.

Yes, that is a bar in the salon reception. They'll whip up a cocktail for you whilst you wait for your appointment, or pour you a glass of bubbly while your hair gets snipped. If you're not drinking then you might even get a bit of cake with your cuppa.

They do the whole boudoir feel better than anyone else I know. And those swanky chandeliers are for sale too y'know. If you have more money than I do anyway.

Although I don't know where to parrot has got to, can someone bring him back please?
Considering Taylor Taylor really is as swanky as looks, it should be intimidating. But it's really not. Sure, the staff here are so goddamn pretty it hurts, but they're friendly too. Although in five years I still haven't quite got over the handsomeness of the male hairdressers. Ain't nothing quite like being told your have sexy hair by a handsome man making you a prettier version of yourself. Expect to do lots of blushing.

My pre-birthday haircut earlier was £52 (not bad when you throw in the bubbly). It looks fab and I'm utterly thrilled. It's all very Bridget Bardot. I also got my eyebrows done (£12, but they've currently got a 20% discount for weekday bookings) and whilst I think they could jazz up the beauty room a bit, the beautician was fab. So friendly, and she actually made having hot wax being ripped from my face kinda fun.
Taylor Taylor is my happy place. If you all book appointments now and make them too busy for me to get one, I'll be sad. But when you do book, make sure you ask for David or Robbi (the more expensive of the two). Enjoy.
